We contributed a couple of photo layouts to EC Book 1, the new quarterly creative publication from Electric Company. The book launch is on Thursday March 25, 2010, 7:00 pm at Resistor Gallery, 284e College Street

It’s already a year old but the video we directed for Circlesquare’s Dancers was invited to be in International Film Festival Breda in the Netherlands.  The video will be screened in the program Out Loud/ Music In Motion on Friday 26th of March at 15:30.

I’ll be teaching an advanced motion design course at Vancouver Film School this term.  Motion Design 4 will will explore the history of title design, analyzing film for theme and composition, understanding storytelling, semiotics, film/TV branding.

I’ve been invited to join some of Vancouver’s top artists at ArtWalk Vancouver 2010. The exhibit will run in concert with the 2010 Olympics. I’ll be doing a video installation, appropriately titled,
The World is Watching, and Waiting for you to Fuck Up.
Come to the opening night party. Have a drink. Then riot.

I’m absolutely thrilled to announce that I’ve joined the awesome crew at Electric Company.
They’ll now be representing me for all commercial and video work.
This also means I’ll be transitioning out of the painfully boring world of design. While I’ll continue to update this site with projects and news, b-cruz.com is now live for a more properly presented showcase of work.

I’m pleased to be joining the rest of the Electric Company artists for this year’s group print show, Land Sea Air. Come join us at the opening reception on Thursday, September 17, 2009.

Summer’s here and we thought we’d give you all a little update. There’s a lot of things on the go right now including some work for Ion Magazine, UBC, and strangely enough, something for the 2010 Vancouver Olympics.

We wish we could have been in Krakow when they screened Dancers last moth for the Krakow Film Festival, but we just can’t be everywhere, no matter how hard we try.

We’ve just finished a short stint back in Toronto. We did a couple of shoots, ran over a lot of equipment, went to a few meetings and met a lot of people at NXNE.

Keep your fingers crossed – something big is coming.

We’ve finally updated our motion design reel with tons of new work you won’t see anywhere else any time soon. Since the weather’s warming up, we decided to set to Vivaldi‘s L’estate Presto. Some of the more recent work was created while at Switch Interactive. Download it at the bottom of the Reel page.

We’ve also set up a Channel to collect the stuff we’ve worked on from all over Vimeo. It’ll also make it easier for all you RSS guys to stay up to date. We even came up with a snazzy name for it: Bienvenido Cruz.

The lovely people at the Madrid-based online magazine Playground asked me to put together a playlist of some of my favorite clips from YouTube. It’s in Spanish, so I’m not really sure what the preample to the piece says, but I’m sure somone will translate it for me at some point. More of our YouTube favorites can be found here.

On February 12th, 2009 grace-gallery threw a party to open their annual Love Letters Show, launch Wrighteous Design‘s new necklace line, and to premiere our new video. Circlesquare’s Dancers was screened three times to over 300 guests over the course of the evening.
Crowd reaction was hard to guage due to the excessive amount of stimuli,
but we’re pretty sure bricks were shat.
