Switch Interactive and I produced this little bit of PR under a ridiculous timeline. We knew it was worth it when when the video received a standing ovation from a stadium full of students after its debut. The subsequent awards it would go on to earn were nice as well.

Summer Update

Summer’s here and we thought we’d give you all a little update. There’s a lot of things on the go right now including some work for Ion Magazine, UBC, and strangely enough, something for the 2010 Vancouver Olympics.
We wish we could have been in Krakow when they screened Dancers last moth for the Krakow Film Festival, but we just can’t be everywhere, no matter how hard we try.
We’ve just finished a short stint back in Toronto. We did a couple of shoots, ran over a lot of equipment, went to a few meetings and met a lot of people at NXNE.
Keep your fingers crossed – something big is coming.
Switch Interactive – Inside/Out
Inside/Out is a promotional video for Switch Interactive to showcase the company’s assorted abilities. Created while at Switch, we utilized the talents of their entire team to produce the interface designs, animation, and special effects for this entirely greenscreen-shot spectacle. Our contribution was in directing the live performance, shooting, editing, and compositing.

Lifetime Collective: Lasers and Smoke Machines
Lifetime Collective hosted a Lasers and Smoke Machines party at their new studios in Vancouver on Friday, April 17th. They unveiled their new Spring/Summer 2009 collection as a giant video projection. The fashion show was created by SALAZAR, directed by Jeff Petry. We did the editing and post effects on it. Details and video after the jump.
2009 Design Montage
We’ve finally updated our motion design reel with tons of new work you won’t see anywhere else any time soon. Since the weather’s warming up, we decided to set to Vivaldi’s L’estate Presto. Some of the more recent work was created while at Switch Interactive. Download it at the bottom of the Reel page.
We’ve also set up a Channel to collect the stuff we’ve worked on from all over Vimeo. It’ll also make it easier for all you RSS guys to stay up to date. We even came up with a snazzy name for it: Bienvenido Cruz.
Hey, Hey Johnny! Sell Sheet

A sell sheet for a feature film for Resonance Films.
We’re on Playground Mag

The lovely people at the Madrid-based online magazine Playground asked me to put together a playlist of some of my favorite clips from YouTube. It’s in Spanish, so I’m not really sure what the preample to the piece says, but I’m sure somone will translate it for me at some point. More of our YouTube favorites can be found here.
Jody Glenham – One Shot
A music video for “One Shot” by Jody Glenham from her acclaimed second album Focus Pull. It seems that sometimes, the more people you know, the less people you know.

Dancers Video Premiere Party

On February 12th, 2009 grace-gallery threw a party to open their annual Love Letters Show, launch Wrighteous Design’s new necklace line, and to premiere our new video. Circlesquare’s Dancers was screened three times to over 300 guests over the course of the evening.
Crowd reaction was hard to guage due to the excessive amount of stimuli,
but we’re pretty sure bricks were shat.

Circlesquare – Dancers
Dancers is the first single off Circlesquare’s new album, Songs About Dancing and Drugs. We directed, shot and edited the video inspired by Robert Longo’s series of drawings, Men in the Cities. The video features dancers Miles Faber and Vincent Noiseux (from So You Think You Can Dance Canada), Julie Chapple and Alison Denham.
